Bambusa emeiensis

A very rare and large bamboo, originating from China and Asia, growing up to 25-35 feet (8-10 m) in height


An attractive bamboo, forming upright and tight clumps of culms (5cm in diameter) which undergo brilliant transformations of colour: blues, greens and reds with striking yellow stripes

The bamboo canes themselves are strongly suited for construction purposes

Hardy to around -4ºC to -10ºC, but the key is to keep the soil on the dry side during any frost
