Description:
This perennial aquatic herb is characterized by its rhizomatous growth habit. Its leaves are long, petioled, and peltate, with a lamina that is reniform to orbicular in shape and margins that are repand to dentate. The upper surface of the leaves is greenish and glabrous, while the lower surface is purple and pubescent. The flowers are large, showy, and crimson-red in color.


Habitat & Distribution :
This plant typically thrives in stagnant inland water bodies, ponds, and lakes.
