Illawarra King Palm, Hardy King Palm
The Illawarra, a hilly costal region just south of Sydney and mildly popular with Australians for holidays, happens to be the southern limit of the natural distribution of Archontophoenix cunninghamiana. The palms originating from here are said to be hardier to cold than those from further north and are therefore sought after by those trying to grow this stately palm in a marginal climate.
