Astrocaryum huaimi
Goiรกs Tucuma Palm,
A moderately sized, weakly clustering palm from central Brazil, Peru and Bolivia, where it grows in semi-deciduous, seasonally flooded forests. It produces an upright crown of plumose leaves and a slender trunk between 5 and 20 cm in diameter. It is less fiercely armed than most Astrocaryum. In cultivation it is rather rare and requires tropical or warm subtropical conditions.
