Very rare species
A very distinctive, midsized, solitary palm from tropical rainforest in northern Madagascar with a smooth, rather slender, ringed trunk and an open crown with flat, regularly pinnate and elegantly arching leaves. This Dypsis is critically endangered, with just a handful of mature trees remaining in a single small site. We believe this species has not yet been introduced into cultivation in any significant amount.
