Very rare species

Native only to Pemba, a small island off the coast of Tanzania in eastern Africa, where it grows in rainforest. It is a midsized palm with clustering, slender, smooth trunks to about 12 m (40 ft.) tall. The elegantly arching leaves are V-shaped in cross section. An easy and fast growing, rare palm for the tropics with exceptional ornamental qualities.
