Geonoma cuneata subsp. procumbens
A beautiful, small palm native to the understory of lowland rainforsts in Central America from southeastern Nicaragua to Panama. It forms a short, slender trunk which holds a dense crown of broadly divided leaves. The flower stalk is a simple spike. It is rather rare in cultivation and prefers a protected spot in the understorey of the warm temperate or tropical garden.
